Dear Faculty and Staff:
It is a tremendous honor to be named the superintendent of the Abingdon CUSD #217. For the past twenty years, I have worked in rural and large-unit school districts. I have had the pleasure of being a business/computer teacher, principal and superintendent. I am enthusiastic about the new school year and continuation of the district’s vision of “Abingdon-the school of choice”. I want to share with you my expectations and goals as superintendent of Abingdon schools.
As an educator, I feel it is necessary to focus on creating and maintaining an open and collaborative environment to promote student success. I will work hard to accomplish this goal. I believe the ultimate purpose of education is to help each student become an effective, responsible, and productive citizen in our democratic society. Education is a team responsibility which begins with the family, extends to the school, and encompasses the entire community. It is our responsibility to ensure that all students receive quality instruction in a safe and secure learning environment at Abingdon. If you have any concerns, comments, or questions, please feel free to contact me—my door is always open! I look forward to working with you as we prepare students for the challenges of tomorrow.
You can contact me by the following methods:

In closing, I want to share a quote from Anatole France, “To accomplish great things we must not only act, but also dream; not only plan, but also believe”.
Sincerely,
Tami J. Roskamp
