 Post-Hardcore came from the Hardcore punk scene. Post-hardcore is typically characterized by its precise and loud guitar-based instrumentation accompanied by a combination of clean vocals and screams. Bands of this genre include My Chemical Romance, Escape the Fate, Bless the fall and From First to Last.

Heavy Metal was made in the 1960's and 1970's. The music consists of loud drums, guitars and base. The bands of this genre of music include Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath and Deep Purple.

                    Grunge is a subgenre of alternative rock that emerged during the mid-1980s in the American state of Washington. Its lyrics often sing about apathy and confinement and gloomy dark lyrics. Bands of this genre include Nirvana and Pearl Jam.

            Alternative Rock is a genre that was made in the early 80's. The music doesn't have a set style because it was originally defined as all bands that were underground. Bands include R.E.M, Cage the Elephant, The Cure, Oasis and the Foo Fighters.
